Scientific UFOlogist Kathleen Marden, a New Hampshirenative, has engaged in UFO research and investigation for more than 20 years and is recognized as an authority on UFO abductions.  She received formal training as a social worker, educator and hypnotherapist. She was awarded a  B.A. degree with honors from the University of New Hampshire and participated in graduate studies in education at The University of Cincinnati and U.N.H.. During her fifteen years as an educator, she innovated, designed and implemented model educational programs. She also held a supervisory position, coordinating, training and evaluating education staff. Additionally, she taught adult education classes on UFO and abduction history. For ten years she served on the MUFON Board of Directors as the Director of Field Investigator Training. In 2003, MUFON publicly recognized her outstanding contribution of advancing the scientific study of the UFO phenomenon and demonstrating positive leadership. Her articles have appeared in The MUFON Journal and in the Best UFO Cases. Additionally, she coauthored Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience with nuclear physicist Stanton T. Friedman. She has also written several research papers on hypnosis and false memory studies. More recently, she has been working with UFO abduction experiencers. She is the niece of Betty and Barney Hill and the conservator of their extensive UFO collection. Their 1961 UFO abduction stirred worldwide interest because it was the first reported case of alien abduction. She and Stan Friedman are currently working on a new book Science Was Wrong, scheduled for publication in June 2010.
